You can begin submitting letters of recommendation to AMCAS as soon as the application opens in May.
For each letter, you’ll create an entry in your AMCAS application to classify the letter type (committee letter, letter packet, or individual letter) and give the letter a recognizable title. The application service will assign a unique letter ID number to each entry.
Then, you’ll download a personalized AMCAS letter request form to send to each letter writer, directing them to the AMCAS Letter Writer Application or Interfolio.
Be sure to follow up with your letter writers if you don’t see their letters submitted in a timely manner on your AMCAS. It’s also good practice to send thank-you letters after your LoRs come through.
You may create and submit letter entries anytime during your primary application process. This includes before you submit, after you submit, and after your application is verified. This is one of the few parts of the application that you can actually edit after submission.
